Brad Pitt speaks out on divorce with Angelina Jolie— After 8 long years

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie were once one of Hollywood’s most famous couples. Both are Oscar-winning actors and global stars. They met while filming the 2005 movie Mr. & Mrs. Smith, and soon their real-life romance began. The media called them “Brangelina,” and their relationship was closely followed by fans around the world. They often appeared on red carpets, supported charities, and raised six children together.

They got married in 2014, but their relationship didn’t last. Angelina filed for divorce in September 2016, and the legal process dragged on for eight years. It finally came to an end in December 2024.

Now, Brad Pitt is finally speaking out — and he doesn’t seem too bothered by it.

While promoting his upcoming racing movie F1, the Once Upon a Time in Hollywood actor was asked by GQ if he felt relieved that the divorce was finally done after all these years.

His answer was short and calm.

“No, I don’t think it was that major of a thing. Just something coming to fruition. Legally,” he said.

This simple response shows that Brad may not see the divorce as a big emotional moment, just the end of a legal process.

Angelina Jolie — known for her roles in Maleficent and Girl, Interrupted — filed for divorce in September 2016, saying they had serious problems they couldn’t fix. Soon after, she accused Brad of being violent during a flight with their kids. Brad strongly denied the claim. The FBI and child services looked into it and found no evidence that he did anything wrong.

Although a judge made them legally single in 2019, they were still fighting over who should take care of the kids and how to split their property — especially their French winery, Château Miraval. In 2022, Brad sued Angelina, saying she sold her part of the winery without telling him first, which he claimed broke their agreement.

On paper, the divorce took a long time and wasn’t easy. But Brad’s relaxed response shows he’s more focused on moving forward.

With F1 set to come out in June 2025, Brad seems ready to leave the past behind and look ahead.
