This year’s Christmas, Rwandan cinema is making history with its first-ever holiday romance, blending love, music, and festive charm in The Bridge of Christmas.

Three days ago, Nelly Wilson Misago, CEO of ZACU Entertainment, announced the production of the film, which is set to premiere on December 25, 2025. The movie features a mix of renowned and aspiring actors, promising an engaging and unique cinematic experience.

Starring popular actresses Ariane Vanessa, known as Maya, and Saranda, the film also introduces rising talents such as Sano Panda and Eliane Irakoze, offering a fresh dynamic to the cast.

In an exclusive interview, the film’s director, Busine Israel, expressed high expectations for the project. “I believe this movie will stand out because it’s the first Rwandan film centered around Christmas—a love story unfolding during the holiday season, produced to a high standard.”

When asked what fans can expect, Busine Israel highlighted the film’s visual and musical elements. “Visually, the night scenes add a rich cinematic depth. They naturally enhance the storytelling, making the film even more captivating. Additionally, the combination of experienced and emerging actors, along with a strong musical presence, makes this film special. In fact, 50% of the movie consists of music, making it a treat for music lovers.”

Regarding the plot, the director teased an engaging and relatable storyline: “In real life, those who actively seek love don’t always find it. This story follows two strangers from different backgrounds who unknowingly rent the same Airbnb apartment. Despite their initial differences—and even a bit of mutual dislike—their unexpected situation leads to an unlikely romance. It’s a classic ‘hate-to-love’ journey, filled with heartwarming moments.”

Busine Israel also praised the actors’ performances. “Even well-known actors have exceeded expectations in this film. Their performances are on a higher level than in their previous projects, which was a pleasant surprise.”

However, the production did come with its challenges. “About 85% of the scenes were filmed at night, which required extra effort from the team. Managing a mix of experienced actors and newcomers—some of whom had never worked night shifts before—was another hurdle. But through teamwork and dedication, we overcame these challenges and brought the story to life.”
