Rwanda’s film industry continues to make waves across the continent, with four of its brightest stars earning top honors at the Music Video Africa Awards (MVAA) 2025, held on October 11 in Lagos, Nigeria.

The Music Video Africa Awards (MVAA)—founded in 2024 by Nigerian creative entrepreneur Daniel Blessington—aim to celebrate and connect Africa’s finest talents in music, film, and fashion. Blessington has emphasized that the awards seek to promote unity, artistic excellence, and cultural exchange across the continent.

The 2025 MVAA awards didn’t just recognize Rwanda’s creative brilliance — they confirmed that the country’s storytellers are helping shape the next chapter of African cinema.
