Record night for APR BBC: 123‑point masterclass earns BAL bronze

APR BBC closed out their 2025 BAL campaign with a dominant 123–90 victory over Egypt’s Al Ittihad in Pretoria , clinching third place and rewriting Basketball Africa League history.

An almost packed SunBet Arena witnessed APR’s explosive start,they opened on a 14–0 run fueled by sharp shooting from Chasson Randle, Ntore Habimana, and Aliou Diarra By halftime, they had built a commanding 74–34 lead.

APR shattered multiple BAL records:

  • Most points scored by a team in a single game: 123,passing the previous MARK of 115 by Al Ahli Tripoli.
  • Most combined points in a game: 213 between both teams.
  • Most three-pointers in a game: 26 successful triples.

Axel Mpoyo kept the barrage going, pushing APR’s lead to 91–56 by the end of the third quarter. While Al Ittihad managed some resistance early on—having been unbeaten until their semifinal loss to Petro de Luanda,they never steered APR off course.
