Mexican-American actor and comedian Paul Rodriguez will not face charges following his recent arrest for drug possession. The City of Burbank, California, where the arrest took place, has decided not to pursue the case, citing insufficient evidence.

Rodriguez was arrested on March 28, 2025, after police allegedly discovered narcotics during a traffic stop. According to the comedian, he was asleep in the passenger seat when officers pulled over the vehicle. He claims he was abruptly awakened by a police officer and taken into custody, despite his insistence that the drugs were not his.
Rodriguez says the driver of the vehicle, a friend of his, admitted that the drugs belonged to her. Nevertheless, he alleges he was treated harshly by officers during the arrest.

The Burbank Police Department responded to Rodriguez’s claims, stating that he did not report any misconduct when he spoke with the watch commander following his release.
Rodriguez’s attorney, Bobby Samini, told TMZ, “My client commends the City Attorney for their determination in this matter. It is without doubt that Mr. Rodriguez was innocent and never possessed any controlled substance.”
He continued, “Mr. Rodriguez maintained his innocence and rejected the assertion by Burbank PD that he committed any crime. He is grateful for the support he received from his fans, family, and friends throughout this difficult time.”
Rodriguez is a veteran stand-up comedian and actor known for his work in both English and Spanish-language films and television. With the case now closed, he is focused on moving forward and returning to his career.
