In the morning of January 21, 2025, DJ Theo passed away just hours after being admitted to Masaka Hospital.

DJ Theo, who had been ill for some time and receiving treatment at a private clinic known as “Kwa Kanimba,” was moved to a public hospital due to the high costs of his care. A decision was made to transfer him to a government hospital, where he could continue treatment through the national health insurance scheme.

A close source to says that when he was admitted to the hospital on the night of January 20, 2025, he initially appeared to improve and even had some time to speak with a fellow patient. However, his condition worsened shortly after.

In addition to his notable music career, DJ Theo worked with several artists and mentored many upcoming DJs. He was closely affiliated with Ibisumizi Records, led by artist RiderMan.

His death has left a deep sense of loss among his fans and the Rwandan Showbiz community.
