Reigning Rwanda Premier League champions, APR FC, have once again been drawn against Egyptian giants Pyramids FC in the first round of the CAF Champions League, following today’s official draw held in Tanzania.

The first leg will be played in Kigali between 19–21 September 2025, with the return leg in Egypt a week later.

APR will be seeking revenge and not to lose to Pyramids on three consecutive occasions , including last season, when they drew 1-1 at home before suffering a 3-1 defeat in Egypt. These results have repeatedly denied the Rwandan side a place in the lucrative group stages.

On the other hand, Pyramids, the reigning CAF Champions League champions, will be looking to extend their dominance over APR and secure another smooth passage into the next round.

Meanwhile, in the CAF Confederation Cup, Rwanda’s Rayon Sports will face Tanzania’s Singida Black Stars in the Preliminary Round, as they aim to progress deep into the continental tournament.
