APR FC have officially parted ways with head coach Darko Novic, bringing an end to his time with the Rwandan giants. The decision comes despite recent signs of improvement in the team’s performance.
Darko had faced pressure over poor results in the Rwanda Premier League, but the team had recently started to bounce back. APR FC currently sit second in the league table, just one point behind arch-rivals Rayon Sports, signaling a tight title race.
Under Novic, APR FC recently lifted the Peace Cup, adding silverware to his tenure. However, despite winning two trophies overall, the club’s expectations were not fully met — especially after a major investment in signing several international players. The new signings did not deliver the consistent results the management and fans had hoped for.
This morning’s training session, which was led by club legends instead of Novic, confirmed the coaching change. The Serbian tactician is expected to meet the players and staff tomorrow to say his final goodbyes before leaving Rwanda.
As APR FC begin their search for a new head coach, the club and its fans will reflect on a reign that delivered trophies but fell short of its full potential.
