Rwandan music stars Platini Nemeye, widely known as Platini P, and Rwangabo Byusa Nelson, known professionally as Nel Ngabo, have announced an exclusive listening party to introduce their upcoming joint album titled “Vibranium.”

The event, a private listening party, is scheduled to take place at Zaria Court on August 29, 2025, starting at 7:00 PM. Fans and invited guests will have a chance to be the first to hear the full album, interact with the artists, and learn more about the creative journey behind the project.

According to the organizers, tickets are limited and cost 50,000 Rwandan Francs. Fans are encouraged to purchase early through http://www.ticqet.rw to secure their spot at this intimate musical experience. The event is organized by Kina Music in collaboration with Zaria Court, Kina Events and other partners.

From EP to Full Album: The Birth of Vibranium

Platini revealed that the project began as an EP, but as they progressed, it evolved into a full album. “We started working on an EP, but during the process, we realized there was so much more we could explore,” he said. “That’s when we decided to turn it into a full album and name it Vibranium, inspired by the powerful metal from the Wakanda movie universe, symbolizing immense value—just as we want Africa to be perceived.”

The album was developed over the course of a year and includes eight tracks, created with the collaboration of more than 20 contributors, including fellow artists, music producers, and sound engineers.

Among the featured artists are Butera Knowless, Mamba, and Da Rest. Platini highlighted Knowless’s active involvement, stating, “Her studio is at her home, so she was always available. Whenever she had an idea, she’d share it and we’d work on it together.”

Empowering the Next Generation

The duo also worked with students from the Nyundo School of Music, offering young, aspiring musicians a chance to contribute to the project. Parts of the album were produced using the school’s recording studios, creating opportunities for hands-on learning and collaboration.

A Musical Journey of Growth and Identity

For Nel Ngabo, working on Vibranium was an opportunity to expand his musical boundaries. “It was a valuable experience for me,” he said. “I experimented with genres I hadn’t tried before, and it helped me grow artistically.”

The artists say their motivation was rooted in celebration and cultural pride. “We wanted to create something joyful, something that reflects the beauty and strength of Africa,” Platini explained. “We chose the name Vibranium because it represents a precious element in the Wakanda film—an African story that looks toward the future. That’s how we see our music too: rooted in today, but thinking ahead.”

In an interview with the media, Platini shared that their idea for the album stemmed from a desire to bring fresh, exciting vibes to listeners while representing Africa positively. “We thought of doing an EP, but we said: let’s make it ‘Vibes’—something different, something valuable – like Vibranium. It’s a word that carries meaning in African storytelling and vision.”
